Intro : Be a Superhero?!? Really ?

We probably all dreamed, at a time or at another, to become a Super-hero. For most of us, this «childish fantasy» evaporated as the exigences of adult life ate away at the leisure time. Modern society could scarcely be said to encourage autonomist lifestyles.

Yet, in reality, there are hundreds of us, at any given day, patrolling the streets of your cities. Working at homeless shelters, running food banks, making fund raisers to finance local charities, the Super-heroes help raising the bar of civility of our chaotic modern lives.

Whence it was once a hazardous activity solely reserved for the athletic and the mentally unstable, Super-heroism is now a highly structured discipline, as secure as any activities, regulated by a strict code of conduct. Today’s Super-hero’s rigorous ethics and specialized training insure that wherever he goes, from whatever angle, he can always be used as a reference model.

Tailor made system of routine to accommodate your particular needs and lifestyles, the Omega School for Super-heroes, offer a series of academic training covering all aspects of Super-heroism from Will power, to identity, networks and so on.
Omega Man’s unique system of initiation provides the starting hero all the proper framework to, both learn and operate, all within a collective of like-minded ascending heroes. Courses, meetings, conferences, charitable activities, but also patrols, interventions and actions, all occasions where you will get to meddle with other costumed heroes, some more experienced.

So whether you are motivated by a sense of social justice, a need for theatricals, for direct action, whether you’re just into it for the fun or are hopeful to make a lucrative career in Super-Heroism, the O.S.S.H. it the place for you.

There have ALWAYS been super heroes. The Shadow, Zorro, Doc Savage; such pulp era heroes did not start a trend. They commented on it. Mostly confined to the anonymity of marginality, the advent of the Internet brought the rise of the latest wave in the age-old tradition, the Real Life Super Hero. From New-York to Los Angeles, from Quebec City to Buenos Aires, passing through Paris, all the way to Tokyo, ordinary people patrol the streets, dressed accordingly, trying to make the world a better place.

Modern man is often confronted with a dilemma about his own power in the grand scheme of things. Albeit a sharp sense of morality often inherited of our elders, we are regularly confronted with such wrongs that we tend to fold back. What can one person do? Lots! One person can do lots. Super-heroism is not a leisurely philosophy. It is in many aspects, a revolutionary praxis. It proposes to bring out the best of mankind. It lays plans for a harmonious future where, freed from the anguish of modern post-industrial civilization, mankind will thrive in a non-invasive synergetic brotherly union.

Justice, social good, equality

With great powers comes great responsibility.
Classical adage of the silver age of comic-books, with traceable roots to Christians scriptures, the meaning of the phrase is of paramount importance to when it comes to Super-heroism. It is with such considerations in mind that was elaborated the Omega code of conduct which all our students have to know by heart and strictly abide by when assuming his super-heroic personae. I.E. Omega super-heroes works only in the greater interest of self/circle/group/mankind.
Motivated by their own respective ideals, their own sense of justice, modern day Super-heroes thrive to better themselves thus insuring that they provide the world with the best of helpers.

Social progress

The world constantly changes. It is the only real constant. Mostly driven by technological progress, social evolution is left in our humble hands, task for which we can barely say we are prepared.
It is one of our main preoccupation at the Omega Initiative, as we are too well aware that any action taken today, will have infinite repercussion in the future. This is why we thrive to be better and to make the world a better place.

Security, chivalry

The hero lives to come to the rescue of the weak and of the helpless. He thrive to spread the safety and confidence he built for himself. Driven by his strict code of ethics, he is motivated by his, all inclusive, brotherly humanism, to tirelessly work at keeping his jurisdiction a safer place.

Culture of comics

Let’s face it, the age of the Super-hero is upon us. From the pages of the comic-books which stories built our sense of justice, the super-hero have invaded all the corners of our culture.

Like they, themselves, we’re inspired by the idols of older days, we now have to build our own mythology, raise our own culture.

Fun

Cosplay is one thing. Somehow childish, pop culture fetish, it may share certain aesthetic similarities with super-heroism but, short of both being great fun, the comparison stops there. A game, a sport and an intellectual activity at the same time, your heroic activity will give you the most memorable memories of all.

The Omega brand of super-heroism is, foremost, a system of self perfection. It is built on the premise that the better the human, the better the world that is, but, the sum of all of us.

No money : Superheroism is not expensive and can be a lucrative business.

How ?

The Omega School for Super-heroes was born from the teaching of the Omega Man. Amongst the many he have taught, he chose 12 to teach their own brand of the Omega Method. A school have been founded by each of the chosen, specializing in his or her most mastered discipline.

Method

Anyone with a suit and moral remorse can patrol the streets and brand himself a hero but what sets the Omega Collective apart from the rest is the unique Omega method. It is through the applications of it’s rules that the heroes of the collective recognize each others worth. It is also how the collective can defend it’s constituents in the eyes of the public and of the law.

The Omega method is a step-by-step program designed to help you bring out your full potential. It is crafted to allow you to proceed at your own speed, under professional supervision, on a path to self-discovery and to self betterment all within the guidance and support of a brotherly collective.

Discipline

Whether during patrols, actions or during your everyday life, a strict discipline and a well-practice sets of routine will be the key to a high-efficiency existence. At the Omega school for super-heroes,we have a sophisticated system of self-discipline where the student is encouraged to develop his own personalized brand within his own capacities and according to his own lifestyle.

Ethics

At the heart of super-heroism lies the unattackable ethic that guides the heroes every moves. It is what differentiate the hero from the villain. It is also what sets him apart from the vigilante.

Tactics & Strategy

As General B says, he who has done his homework always conquer he who hasn’t. The better the preparations the swifter the victory. It is in that perspective that the superhero develops the sharpest skills in the fields of tactics and strategy. Through studies and gaming the student familiarize with the basics and develop his own approach before applying his experience to real world applications on patrols and operations.

Costume

A superhero needs a flamboyant name and costume. Stylized accessories, vehicles and such, reinforce the heroes general outlook as well as his public image and credibility. Many aspect have to be taken at heart to provide the hero with a useful apparel and to avoid impracticality. Whether the student decide to make his suit himself or have it custom made by our «Costumier», we offer various classes in the art of identity and symbolism.

Hierarchy, authority

Although there is an administrative structure, the collective is NOT a hierarchical organization but a completely horizontal organization, based on a geodesic/cellular model. Hence the squad leader holds a tactical authority that begins and stop with the operation or patrol at hand. It is meritocratic rather that hierarchical.

Training, self and in group

Any serious training starts with a rigorous personal routinal discipline. Real progress, however, is conditional to proper supervision. The Super-hero’s peak performance abilities derives from his advanced specialized training. Fitness, combat, field assessment are just a few of the classes offered by the Omega School.

Networking

Like the artist needs his peers recognitions to be considered as such, the super-hero also is defined by the recognition of his peers. It is within the collective network that superheroing takes all it’s strength. It is within that framework that every heroes specialization combines to other’s. Well balanced parties are vital to organizing efficient teams and squads.

The public sphere, reputation, irreproachably

The superheroes relationship with the public is at the heart of his considerations. First beneficiary of the heroes actions it’s also, often, the harshest of critics. Hence the extra precaution that is taken within the collective to adhere to strict ethical guidelines but also to actively promulgate a positive image of the profession and of its proponents. Through maintaining an active public presence in the medias, the superhero insures public support for the cause in general and/or for specific venues, be it actions, charities or other public event.

Equipment :

Gadgets are cool, that’s no debate, and it is obvious that this age of technological wonders brought more than it’s share of amazing tools for today’s superheroes. The Omega school for Super-heroes , however, encourages self-reliance. Hence the students is encourage to equip himself with only the best. That may sometimes be industrialized goods and that sometimes be either modified or home-build devices. Hence inventing, building, modifying and repairing devices is a core teaching at the school.

Character sheets, progress reports, logbook.

In order to maintain a well-paced disciplined progression the student will be encouraged to use academic material such as Character sheets, logbook and to fill regular progress report which archival will me usefull to both your personal progress as well as your organizational inclusion.

About the Omega School for Super-Heroes.

The O.S.S.H. is an educative structure, based on the idea of self-reliance. It aims at the amelioration of the students abilities through objective assessment and methodical training. Based on the latest techniques, it have been refined into a coherent, integrated, inter-disciplinary system. Through progressive augmentation of the difficulty level, the student develops to the maximum of his possibilities all the while maintaining an acceptable stress level.
